Boat Haulers in Maine operate in the hours of ½ hour before sunrise and ½ hour after sunset, Monday-Thursday; and Friday until noon for oversize loads.Yacht Transportation for any boat over 8’ 6” wide must have a permit issued by the state and it may be ordered on line or by fax. Allow 24 hours prior to transport to obtain a permit. Keep in mind that some cities and metropolitan areas may require additional permits.Maine Boat Transportation needs to abide any vessel over 12’ wide requires an escort.Any vessel over 16’ wide requires a police escort.Any load that can be reduced to legal height, 13’ 6” must be prior to transport.Travel restrictions may apply on federal and state holidays.Vessels over 14’ wide and 13’ 6” in height are not allowed on the ME Turnpike for additional info call 800-698-7747.:
